One of the commenters, a guy, recommended the Paleo diet. I ignored it because I think I know everything about nutrition and dieting.
After losing 15 lbs in the last year and a half, I've been feeling like I'm almost as low on food intake as I can go without feeling like I'm actually starving. So I took a good hard look in the mirror with an open mind. And the fact of the matter is, I dont look like I make any effort whatsoever. I just look like a normal girl. Obviously, I'm not doing something right. And I flashed back to the Paleo recommendation.
Ugh, fine. Googled it.
WTF? Its the Caveman diet?! I invented that when I was 15 years old! So I dont even have to read about it because I recommended it to myself 16 years ago? Fine, I'll do it.
The best part about this is that ONE of my very fit friends responded to my post (in person) and gave me the low down. And I sincerely appreciated it. She just verified for me how you really do have to eat extremely lean. All the time. No cheating. Paleo, basically.
Now I've been inspired to move my focus away from food, and towards accomplishing some positive goals. They are fitness goals: one for dance, one for yoga. Focusing on achieving a stronger, more flexible body. I already feel much better about things :)
